Yesterday when we were switching the beds around, Nolan and Drew were playing in the living room. Drew LOVES to run around the couch, letting the other kids chase him. When he was running around, Nolan hid behind the couch and said peek-a-boo. When Nolan did that, Drew turned around laughing and ran smack dab into the corner of the of the wall. The laugh turned quickly turned into a scream/cry.
Daniel heard the bang and came running into the family room to see what was wrong. He saw Drew crying and blood everywhere! I mean blood was every where! He took him straight way to the bathroom to get him cleaned up and see how bad the injury was.
Daniel yelled “get me a rag,” and Jack got him the dirty dish rag from the sink. lol
I ran to start the car. I was thinking for sure this time we were headed to the ER. There was blood pouring out of him and all over the carpet.
Jack was crying and he said to me “you better hurry, what if he dies”
Nolan had his look like “what did I do?”
Zoey was trying to get everyone out of the bathroom, yelling at Jack to be quiet.
Lucas said “eeww, you can see his brain!”
Isn’t it funny the way kids react in high stress situations?
This happened at 1pm, he was already late for his nappy. It was a head injury so we kept him awake for an hour and then put him down for a nappy. He woke up at 4pm with a splitting headache I bet!

You think Drew’s super suckie day is over? Nope, not yet!!
While Drew was napping Daniel ran an errand, Jack went on a play date, Zoey was at the Livonia REC with her friend, Nolan and Lucas were outside playing with their friends and Berkley was sleeping. It was quiet in the house and I loved it for that few minutes. I even called my brother Adam to see how things were and got to talk to my niece Abigail.
When Drew woke up he was a much happier baby. I went into to get him and was able to give him 100% attention., I changed his diaper and I rocked him in the rocking chair for a few minutes. Then he wanted to get down and wander so I followed.
He went into Nolan and Lucas “new” bedroom with the red bunk beds. The lower bunk is right up next to the window and it was a perfect sun shiny day so of course I had the windows opened up and let the fresh air into their room. Drew heard the kids playing outside and wanted to check it out. He climbed onto the bed and stood up and screamed at the kids who were in the front yard running all around. I was sitting right behind him on the bed when it happened. His foot slips and he jacked his jaw on the window ledge. He screamed, and blood was everywhere. I pull his top teeth out from the inside of his bottle lip. Yep you got that right, another injury for the little guy. I am freaking out and take him to the bathroom. The blood was coming and coming.
I called Daniel and ask him to come home ASAP. I told him what had happened. By the time Daniel arrived home it was much better. It’s a pretty nasty cut on the inside of his bottom lip but it will heal, eventually..

My poor baby Drew had a not so great day yesterday. But he lived and one day he’ll be able to read this wonderful blog entry. And as someone famous once said “ What doesn’t kill him, only makes him stronger”
