Idaho Falls Temple
(Daniel is writing this post)
The Wedding took place Thursday April 16th at 10:30am, in the Idaho falls Temple, as seen above…and no I didn’t take that picture…but I could have
While waiting for Joey and Meagan the question was asked…”Do they plan on exchanging rings?”
For those of you that read our post, and are NOT Mormon, exchanging of rings is not something that is required for a marriage ceremony, and is something the couple may or may not chose to do doing the temple ceremony.
My mother answered ” I was told they are going to do it after” and the soon to be Mother-in-Law answered ” I was told to hold on to the ring at the temple…” On no Scoobie, we have a problem. Just to play it safe my Mom ran to get the ring from Joe’s car only to figure out in the parking lot, that Joe had given the ring to Ben, our youngest brother, for safe keeping…a great plan, except Ben was running late. It all turned out ok, as I said before the rings are not as important to a Mormon wedding, and they where able to exchange them after the ceremony. They did, however, share there first kiss…as Man and Wife, over the alter, a long kiss, a really long kiss, it was so long I thought we might miss our flight home.
After the wedding there was the normal group photos, family photos, and couple photos on the temple grounds and down by the World Famous Idaho Falls (actually I’m not sure if they are world famous, maybe just locally famous)
After the photos, we met up at one of the 300 church buildings in and around Idaho Falls for a family lunch, a place to eat and mingle with the two families that had just become related. Interestingly Sarah Managed to make her way into the photos..? We got there a little late due to the 2 lasagnas that were in the oven and needed to be cooked before the lunch but after the wedding.
The next day was the open house..no it was a reception…no wait an open house…or was it a reception…?
No one could decide on exactly what to call it, for me it was an open house, a reception has an itinerary, a program of sorts, oh but wait…there was sort of a program at the end…I’m so confused. What ever the “official” title was, it was a lot of fun, there was food, home-made root beer, cake, and music…just no dancing. The room was pretty, the lights didn’t fall down, and there was a nice slide show of Joe and Meagan growing up. Sometime during the night a bunch of hulagins decided to decorate Joe’s car…they did a good job too. As the night winded down, there was the cutting of the cake, catching of the bouquet (caught by Sam, my youngest sister), the throwing of the garter (not caught by any one), and the opening of the presents. It was a lovely evening, and I wish Joe and Meagan the best…
